Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is jumping into the battle for Atletico Madrid attacker Antoine Griezmann.

The French striker has been linked with a move to Manchester United for a number of years and nearly moved there in the summer.

Sport says Guardiola has been in contact with the 26-year-old about joining his exciting project at the Etihad.

Barcelona have reportedly lined up a move for Griezmann if their pursuit of Philippe Coutinho fails to materialise, while Germany giants Bayern Munich are also interested.

But Guardiola is hoping to beat both of his old clubs to bring the former Real Sociedad man to the Premier League.
