Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola bemoaned his side's fortune after a 1-0 loss to Southampton.
The Citizens were on the front foot all game with 26 shots and 74 percent of possession.
However, it was the Saints who took the lead after a Che Adams strike - his first of the season.
And Guardiola admitted it was a tough blow.
"It was a really good performance but it was a résumé of this season," said Guardiola to reporters.
"We made a mistake and they punished us.
"We've lost a lot of games like this, and if you do that you can't compete to win the Premier League."
