Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes Ilkay Gundogan is now silencing his critics.

Guardiola says Gundogan is an "extraordinary player" after the midfielder played a starring role in City's 5-0 win over Cardiff at the weekend.

"Never forget that when we judge a player we judge with ten other players," he explained.

"Sometimes the team doesn't play so good or the guys close to him don't play so good. When one player plays good, the team plays good.

"When the team is not playing in the same level, I'm going to tell you he played bad? No, no, no."
