Man City boss Guardiola hails De Bruyne, 2-goal Brahim: Forget him Real Madrid!

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is unsure of the extent of Kevin de Bruyne's injury suffered on Thursday night.

Outstanding in the Carabao Cup win against Fulham, De Bruyne was forced off the field late on with an injury.

Guardiola said at the final whistle: "He is being checked by the doctors. I don't know right now.

"We don't know if it's nothing or if it's something serious."

He continued: "I think today Kevin is back. The Kevin we know.

"He made a huge effort against Shakhtar, played a few minutes against Spurs in difficult conditions.

"Today he was involved in offense and defence, hopefully what happened in the last minute is not serious."

City won the tie thanks to two goals from Brahim Diaz.

Real Madrid has been touted as a possible destination...

"We will do absolutely everything to keep him with us," Guardiola said. "We want him, but at the end it doesn't depend on us."
