Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists they cannot afford to compete for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
Sergio Aguero will be departing the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season as the club's all-time top scorer with an incredible 257 goals in 384 matches, and talk has already turned to who will replace him.
Haaland has been heavily linked with a move to City, along with rivals United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Barcelona in a £154million transfer.
But Guardiola has all-but ruled out City making a move for the Norwegian superstar from Borussia Dortmund, claiming the club "cannot afford him" despite their riches.
Guardiola said during his pre-Leicester press conference on Friday: "With these prices, we are not going to buy any striker, it is impossible, we cannot afford it.
"All the clubs struggle financially, we are not an exception. We have Gabriel, many young players in the academy, many can play as a false nine. Maybe we won't buy any striker for the next season."
