Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists he expects Eric Garcia to see out the season.

Off contract in June, it was expected Barca would cough up a fee of €5m plus €5m in bonuses to City to bring Garcia back to his old club this month.

However, that appears off after comments from Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta this morning ruling out any January deals.

Before Laporta's claims, Guardiola said yesterday: "I hope he does not leave now, but maybe there are people in Barcelona who know more than me.

"I don't know what's going to happen, honestly, but maybe he can go this winter. We will see."
