Man City boss Guardiola considering sabbatical

Manchester City fans will be worrying about the long-term future of their manager this morning, as the Mirror are reporting that Pep Guardiola may look at taking another break from the game if the Citizens win the Champions League next season.

The reports come after the Spaniard guided the club to a domestic treble; the first time that any English club has achieved that feat.

Sources close to the Spaniard suggest management takes a "big toll" on Guardiola and that leaves him needing a break.

The Champions League continues to evade City, who were beaten by Tottenham in the quarter-finals this season.

They only made the last eight in 2017/18 too and were knocked out in the round of 16 a year earlier.

He also failed to guide Bayern Munich to European glory, having won the competition twice in three seasons at Barcelona.

Mauricio Pochettino is likely to be City's No.1 choice to replace Guardiola if he does go, although there are no suggestions he will quit this summer.
