Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes Barcelona must be careful with their summer spending.
Guardiola says he'll be surprised if they spend big given their current financial concerns.
Speaking at a Mallorca golf event, the former Barca coach said: "I hope everything goes well for them but with the situation they have they cannot do great things.
"There are moments in history, everyone has to accept it, when the situation is what it is and sometimes going with a low profile will help to rise very quickly. The expectations, because of the situation that it is, not because of the lack of quality of the coaches, the players or the board of directors... The perception I have is good, but you have to go calmly.
"Everyone knows that if the situation isn't good you can't make big signings. You have to think about winning the next game and not talking about big dates."
