Manchester City have received a boost over Kevin de Bruyne's knee injury.

HLN says De Bruyne has been told he won't require surgery after visiting Barcelona this week.

City sent De Bruyne to renowned surgeon Dr Ramon Cugat and the Belgian was informed surgery will not be necessary.

More news is expected today, though initial reports have been positive.

Early indications had suggested De Bruyne would be missing for four months.
