Man City book Real Madrid semi-final with mature and disciplined draw with Atletico Madrid

Manchester City are into the Champions Leagues semi-finals after holding on for a goalless draw against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

City headed to the Spanish capital with a slender advantage after winning the first leg 1-0.

Credit must go to City for a disciplined and mature display as Atleti brought the heat on the pitch and in the stands.

Ilkay Gundogan came close to silencing the home crowd in the first-half but his shot could not beat the post.

Atleti pushed hard for an equalising goal but could only manage three shots on target against a resolute City defence.

Los Rojiblancos ended the match with ten-men after Felipe was shown a second yellow card for strong challenge on Phil Foden, with both teams clashing after the incident.

Pep Guardiola's side will now face Real Madrid in the semi-finals.

Having lost in the final to Chelsea last season, City will want another chance to win their maiden Champions League title.
