Manchester City and Barcelona are going head-to-head for two of Ajax's brightest young talents.

Goal says City are set to battle Barcelona for the signatures of both Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs De Ligt.

The Premier League champions are now front-runners for the signings of both players after a recent push from club sporting director Txiki Begiristain.

Barcelona had reportedly been keen to recruit the young Dutch duo, however it is now believed City could ramp up their interest in order to secure two of the hottest talents in European football.
