Man City ace Gabriel Jesus: Real Madrid goal most important of career

Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus was delighted with his role in victory at Real Madrid this week.

Gabriel headed home the equaliser ahead of City eventually winning 2-1 in Madrid for the first-leg if their Champions League round 16 tie.

He told AS: "I'm very happy. Wednesday was one of the most important and significant goals of my career. It was a very difficult game, we all know the importance and size of Real Madrid.

"That is why I say that I am very happy and sure I will always remember this great night. But now we have to focus on the return. There is nothing done or resolved, we do not trust: it is Real Madrid. They have a lot of quality and we have to be very focused.

"We always say that City has more than 11 headlines. All players who wear this shirt have to be prepared for these types of situations. People want to fight for all the titles, so we have to have a whole staff ready. I was ready and, when I learned that I was going to play, I knew I could do my best."

Gabriel has now scored 27 goals in his last 36 games.

He added: "I feel very good and very confident. I'm on a good run, always giving my best level, and things are going like that for me. I am scoring and assisting, helping City. I feel good and looking to grow more and more to be at the best possible level."
