Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong says playing in the Premiership suits his game.
The Holland international has admitted he's had to curb his all-action ways at the World Cup this month.
De Jong, speaking about the Premiership, said: "There's always a battle in midfield. And if you lose, you lose the game.
"Those who withdraw their leg, loses. I need to make sure those guys ahead of me can do their thing. My opponent cannot think they can do what they want. It is a serving role.
"In the Netherlands there is less focus on my position, but you do need someone like me in your team."
