Man City ace De Bruyne hails humble record breaker Aguero

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is full of praise for his record-breaking teammate Sergio Aguero.

Aguero scored a hat-trick against Aston Villa to overtake Thierry Henry as the highest ever overseas Premier League goalscorer, finding the net on 177 occasions.

He also overtook Alan Shearer to become the striker to score the most Premier League hat-tricks with 12.

De Bruyne said: "I've been playing with Sergio for five years, and the record he has got speaks for itself.

"And the way he acts is really good. He's not somebody you hear about all the time. He just plays football and for the rest he keeps himself to himself, so that's nice."

As well as supplying Aguero on a consistent basis during their time at City, De Bruyne has also worked closely with Henry, during the Arsenal great's spell as a coach with the Belgium national side.

He added: "People know about Henry. He was also my coach in Belgium so I know him a little bit personally but it's so difficult to compare. The records for both of them speak for themselves.

"It's not always necessary to compare people, just be happy and grateful that these guys have played here. Sergio has been here for nine years. To do this on a consistent basis for nine years is unbelievable."
