Man City ace De Bruyne excited to be in Belgium for Club Brugge clash

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is excited to be facing Club Brugge in the Champions League.

De Bruyne is with City in his native Belgium for the game.

He said, "I'm excited to go back home, obviously people will always set the standard higher and higher because of what we've won in England in the five or six years, people expect us to win the Champions League," he said.

"We've not won it but we are trying.

"Hopefully in my period here we can get one. It doesn't define your legacy, maybe for people outside. I'm happy with what we've done as a club for the last six years.

"Belgium is always a competition that goes through talented young talents. I've came through that system, I think Bruges are doing the same with young players.

"I'm always rooting for Belgian teams.

"Important for Belgian teams to do well in Europe so players can show how good they are and so they can sell on so the money can go back into the system."

On last season's losing final, he added: "We always try to maintain a high level at his club and compete for titles. That is what we did last year. Winning two semis and a [Carabao Cup] final. Sometimes you can lose these games and you have to move on."
