Man City ace Bernardo: Pep key to overcoming Real Madrid

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva says they'll face Real Madrid with confidence in their Champions League showdown.

City will host the second-leg of their round 16 tie with Real defending a 2-1 aggregate lead.

Bernardo told Radio Marca: "The truth is that there was a lot of distance between the first game and this one and that also makes it different and special, but we know that we have won 2-1 at the rival's home, so we have to play with the same attitude and the confidence of the first game, but we have to play with the result.

"We know that we are going to play against a great team, one of the best in the world and it will be very difficult, but we are going to try and I think we have a very strong team and we can win again."

Bernardo believes City have an advantage in manager Pep Guardiola and his history with Real.

The Portugal international added: "No one is like Pep to help us meet a Spanish team that he also knows very well. Having Pep as our coach, playing against Madrid is always good. As you said, he has always been a coach who knows Madrid better than anyone."
