Man City ace Bernardo misses Portugal training

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva missed Portugal training on Tuesday morning ahead of their World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland.

Since a summer move that Bernardo wanted never materialised, he has rediscovered his best form under Pep Guardiola and has been one of the manager's most effective and most used players this season.

Guardiola hopes in every international break that the players return to Manchester as fit as they were when they left, and will be watching developments with Bernardo after the Portuguese Football Federation confirmed that the 27-year-old sat out training on Tuesday with myalgia, a muscle fatigue, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Portugal will train again on Wednesday morning before heading to Dublin for the match, with head coach Fernando Santos also holding a press conference on that day where he could give an update on the player's fitness.
