Maltese great Mifsud hoping to bring scoring power to Melbourne Heart

Michael Mifsud is eager to make a positive impact with new club Melbourne Heart.

The 32-year old Maltese striker signed a one-year deal with the Heart on Wednesday and is determined to bring his prolific goalscoring exploits with him to the A-League.

"I'm here to play football and help the team and show people what I am capable of," Mifsud said.

"I am here to work; I'm not here just to relax. I know Australian football is doing well and it's a good level so I need to work hard as well.

"I'm a goal scorer, that's what I do best."

Mifsud, who counts Kaiserslautern, Lillestrom and Coventry City as some of his former clubs, says he is prepared for the physicality of the Australian top flight.

"I've played in Norway, which is quite physical, and England, which is quite physical as well - ok I am small - but I'm quite strong," the 5'5" talisman added
