Florent Malouda has urged his teammates to pull together and all become leaders at injury-hit Chelsea.
With Frank Lampard already out and now captain John Terry and Alex sidelined for potentially lengthy spells, the French attacker is keen for some other players, including himself, to put their hands up and help provide the leadership required to achieve positive results in the Premier League.
"It's a difficult moment for us because we have a lot of injuries but we have to carry on," said Malouda.
"It's difficult because they are our leaders. JT is our captain. But we have games coming up and we have to win them.
"My role for France is to be a leader and I have to do that for Chelsea too. I know others can do that as well.
"The players who are coming in are ready and we have to trust the squad," Malouda added, ahead of this weekend's clash with Birmingham.
"The manager trusts them. We have to come back stronger. That's what we will do against Birmingham."
