Malouda: Abramovich made Chelsea sexy

Florent Malouda says there's no question Roman Abramovich loved Chelsea.

Malouda won the Champions League during Abramovich's time running the Blues.

Asked about owners who genuinely cared about their clubs, he told Sport-Express: “I would say there are two. This is Roman (Abramovich) and Jean-Michel Aulas in Lyon. They always worried about their clubs.

"When you look at everything that has been done, not only investments, but also trophies, you are surprised. Abramovich made Chelsea sexy, attractive. These are real examples of club owners. I was lucky to play in their clubs."

On the 2008 Champions League final defeat, Malouda said: “Abramovich didn't tell us anything special. When you lose the final, not a single word can help you recover.

"It leaves a scar on the heart. He always supported us, tried to send the team to one more attempt to take the trophy. And year after year we got closer and closer.

"Roman never talked too much, but he showed his ambition. Every year new players and coaches came. All because we wanted to win.

"For example, I moved to Chelsea because I wanted to win the Champions League."
