Shaun Maloney is set to soon complete his move away from Chicago Fire.
The Scotland international will join Championship club Hull City just seven months after leaving the UK to join MLS side the Fire as a Designated Player.
32-year-old attacking midfielder Maloney spent time with Celtic, Aston Villa and Wigan Athletic before his move to the US where he has made 14 MLS appearances, scoring three goals.
Hull boss Steve Bruce said: "Shaun is close to joining.
"He's got that bit of quality on the ball, he's played at the highest level and he will give us that little bit of something extra."
