Bologna coach Alberto Malesani was relieved after their 2-0 win over Lecce.

All the action at the Stadio Dall'Ara was compressed into 60 seconds, when Marco Di Vaio and then Henry Gimenez were on target for a 2-0 victory.

"The jeers are unfair," moaned Bologna boss Malesani. "I don't know what the fans expect from these lads, but we have a long-term project and must all understand that you cannot become a winning team in 60 days.

"Leave us in peace, we know full well that we have to avoid relegation. Today we deserved the victory and I'm glad to hear De Canio said so too. He is a gentleman and we could do with more people like him in football."
