Mainz midfielder Lewis Holtby has committed his international future to Germany.

The Germany U21 captain qualifies for England through his father.

But the midfielder, who come through the youth ranks with Germany, has set his sights on playing for Joachim Low's side, despite having supported England as a child.

"I have made up my mind and I would like to play for Germany," said Holtby to Germany's ZDF television last night. "My father accepts that."
