Mainz sports chief Rouven Schroder insists they're not actively seeking to sell Jean-Philippe Mateta.
It emerged over the weekend a raft of Premier League clubs had made contact with Mainz about a deal for the striker.
Watford, Southampton, Newcastle United, Everton, Cardiff City, Monaco and Marseille have all been linked with the €40m-rated attacker.
But Schroder told Kicker: "How should one allegedly demand a transfer to a certain extent if the player is not on the market for us at all?
"We are very pleased with the development of Jean-Philippe and look forward to the new 19/20 season with him!"
