Modibo Maiga admits he knows he's on the outer at West Ham United.
The striker featured in their FA Cup thrashing at Nottingham Forest on Sunday.
He said: "That result was unfair on the kids that played and on me. It was just unfortunate with the injuries that the manager had that we were forced to put out a patched up side.
"I am hungry to prove though that I can play at the very top. I understand I am surplus to requirements here and I want a chance to prove I can play as a central striker and score goals.
"The club will let me leave and I know I can make a success of wherever I go."
