Stefan Maierhofer admits he joined Wolves for games like Saturday's trip to Liverpool.

The match takes on extra significance with Wolves chairman Steve Morgan having been a former shareholder at Anfield.

"It's unusual for me to be playing at Christmas time as we have a break in Austria and Germany but I can't complain," Maierhofer told the Daily Mail. "For me, my biggest Christmas present will be to play at Anfield on Boxing Day. It has been my dream to play at these great, historical grounds with their fantastic atmospheres.

"Old Trafford last week, now Liverpool - that is what you come here for."
