Madeira locals upset with Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo 'privilege'

Local Madeira government officials are having to react to the training schedule of Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo.

It's emerged this week that Ronaldo has moved out of the family home into a local €4,000-a-week villa and is now training at the Deportivo Nacional stadium in Choupano - opened especially for him by the club's president.

Local health minister Pedro Ramos told local press in response: "Ronaldo has no special permission to train.

"Cristiano Ronaldo has the right to train as long as he respects the rules like all citizens: there is no privilege for him."

Ramos is the local health advisor for the coronavirus shutdown.
