Mackay-Steven happy to share Dundee Utd attention with young guns

Dundee United winger Gary Mackay-Steven is more than happy to share the limelight with a number of emerging talents at the club.

Mackay-Steven, often linked with a Tannadice departure, is now seeing up and coming stars such as John Souttar, Andrew Robertson and Ryan Gauld attracting attention from clubs south of the border and he has welcomed the fact he is now flying under the radar.

"It's good not to have the speculation every day and people asking me what's happening," he told the Daily Record.

"I'm sure the boys will be the same and they'll get people asking them what's going on all the time and it will be annoying them a bit.

"But it's great for them - it's no wonder teams are looking at boys such as Gauldy, John and Andy.

"They've all had a great start to the season and are so young they've got a lot to look forward to.

"I haven't given them any advice but they are so level-headed they know themselves how to handle things.

"They just keep their feet on the ground and go about their business like they have done since they first came into the set-up.

"They've been great all season and long may that continue."
