Kevin MacDonald says Gerard Houllier's backroom team at Aston Villa looks "very good".
On the day Gary McAllister, Robert Duverne and Gordon Cowans were announced as Houllier's backroom team, the new boss took time out to meet his players in the dressing room after their draw with Bolton Wanderers.
MacDonald is due to sit down with the Frenchman on Monday to discuss a variety of topics.
And the caretaker manager was quick to insist it's exciting times ahead for Villa.
He told Villa's website: "It looks very, very good.
"I know Gary from having played with him and talked to him. He's a fellow Scot.
"I know Gordon very well and Rafa, who I have worked with for a couple of years but more over this period of time. Mr Houllier has a great reputation obviously. I don't know the fitness coach.
"It looks good and with the players we've got let's hope we push on further and further."
