French club Lyon have rejected Newcastle United's offer for Clement Grenier.
The Magpies lodged a 'substantial bid', reported to be £8million, on Wednesday but Les Gones have reportedly turned it down.
Toon boss Alan Pardew was hopeful of landing the 23-year old French midfielder before the transfer window closes on Friday but it appears as though Lyon are standing firm.
