Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas says the club would not be able to afford Jose Mourinho.

Ex-Manchester United boss Mourinho has expressed his desire to manage in Ligue 1 as he looks set to return to the dugout this summer.

Aulas said in L'Equipe when asked on contact with Mourinho: "I saw him last summer in Moscow, we talked a bit, but not about him coming to Lyon, on transfers.

"The Special One is not compatible with our economic reality."
