Olympique Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas insists there's no rift with Manchester City fullback Benjamin Mendy.

Ex-Marseille defender Mendy enjoyed winding up OL and Aulas ahead of last season's Europa League final hosted by Lyon.

But Aulas now says: "I reconciled with Benjamin Mendy? We were not angry.

"I say it all the more easily as I had a privileged relationship with the ex-Lyonnais, as it was not necessarily the case with others..."

A selfie with Mendy and other France players during the World Cup eased the tension.

Aulas continued: "In the locker room after the quarter or semifinal, Benjamin (Pavard) said to me: 'Are we going to make a selfie?' If it was me who asked for it, we would have found it more political... (laughs)."
