Manchester United are battling with Lyon in the race to secure Tyrell Malacia.

The young left-back has emerged as a target for several top European teams, with Newcastle United also interested.

According to The Mirror, Lyon are the team at the forefront of the queue for his signature.

They have made a £12 million offer to Dutch side Feyenoord for Malacia's signature.

Newcastle are also keen, while Manchester United may see Malacia as the ideal competition for first choice left-back Luke Shaw this coming season.

If Man United do move for Malacia, they are likely to put Alex Telles in the shop window.
