Lyon dramatically drop Aouar asking price but Arsenal must sell first

Arsenal must first sell a player before buying Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar.

The Frenchman is reportedly keen to leave his boyhood club this summer.

The Gunners have tracked Aouar since last summer and remain in desperate need for a creative attacking midfielder.

Reports in France have suggested Arsenal have made an offer for Aouar.

ESPN says the club must first move on players before pursuing the 23-year-old.

Granit Xhaka and Lucas Torreira are both expected to leave the Emirates this summer.

In welcome news for Arsenal, Aouar is available for much less than when they tried to sign him last summer.

Lyon would be willing to accept an offer of €25m, a dramatic reduction on their previous demands of €60m.

Aouar is also open to moving to Arsenal despite them not qualifying for any European competitions next season.
