Olympique Lyon coach Bruno Genesio will be happy if Thierry Henry takes the Bordeaux job.

The Arsenal icon is to meet with Bordeaux officials today.

Genesio said: “Henry's career is a bit like Zidane's: he has come through the ranks, taken different roles to get involved in the life of a group and gain experience.

"He certainly feels ready today to take this role of coach and it is rather a good approach like what Patrick Vieira has done. These are former players who have made the history of French football.

"This brings a lot of media attention and I think it's good for French football."
