Olympique Lyon chief Juninho has admitted his interest in Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.

Indeed, Juninho says a deal is close for the Algeria international.

He revealed, "If Islam Slimani will arrive at OL? He is a player that we appreciate a lot. It is a possibility, but not the only one. Mid-season is not easy to find a striker who agrees to come for six months or maybe a year and a half.

"It's expensive, we're not going to buy players right now, but we are observing Islam and other players. At the start of the season, I spoke with him, we almost reached an agreement so that he could come to us.

"He wants to come to us, he wants to wear our jersey, but there is nothing done yet. Like I said, you shouldn't watch just one player. We talk with him, but nothing is done."
