The Italy international has joined OL on a season-long loan with the option to sign permanently next June.
At his presentation on Friday, Juninho said: "He's a player who has been playing in Europe for a long time. He has dual nationality (Brazilian and Italian). He knows the high level. We knew since the end of last season that we had to look for two left-backs because we felt that Melvin (Bard) could leave. Youssouf (Koné), we were going to loan him. We managed to bring Henrique to be a second option.
"We were looking for a profile like Emerson. The opportunity was there.
"We should quickly see the player at work because Emerson could even be available this weekend.
“Having Brazilians in the group weighed a bit. We hope he will perform well. It is a loan but we hope that he will be liked. He knows Lyon because he came here with Roma and if all goes well we hope to have him on Sunday (against Clermont).
"He's a very balanced defender. He is trained in indoor football, he has this technical touch. He likes to participate in the game. He is also serious in tackles and defensively, and his experience will bring a lot of things I hope."
