Watford have failed with an offer for Lyon attacker Maxwell Cornet.

L'Equipe says the Hornets have made an offer for Cornet and submitted a contract proposal to the player's camp.

Cornet has battled for a regular start this season, but turned down the Watford offer.

The proposal was far greater than what Cornet is earning at OL, but the attacker feels he can play for a bigger club.
