Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is surprised by claims he's agreed a new six-year deal.
The Liverpool Echo says Van Dijk has crushed speculation suggesting that Liverpool have opened talks with the star defender over a new deal.
Recent reports suggested that the Merseyside club is offering fresh terms for his five-year contract that would see him earning £200,000 per week and becoming one of the club's highest-paid players.
But the Netherlands captain has been left bemused by those rumours and hasn't made any effort to secure a higher salary.
The star defender's current deal means he will be a Reds player until 2023 and that is why the club is in no hurry to open talks over new terms.
