Former Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo has spoken of the pride he had working with Zinedine Zidane.
Luxemburgo has revealed a message he received from Zidane after being sacked.
He told the Coach's Voice: "Entering the locker room of Real Madrid is like doing it at the UN, you have players of all nationalities with whom you have to make yourself understood, and you must do it very quickly.
"Contrary to what was said in the media, I did not have any problems with any of them, they understood what I wanted, and I knew it through a message from Zidane on my phone the day I left the club: 'Coach, it's a shame that you had to leave Real Madrid. You put me back in a position with which I won the World Cup in France.
"I placed Zidane on the team playing behind Raúl and Ronaldo, accompanied by a group of very fast players around him, and from my time at Real Madrid I have the feeling of having left a good image.
"That message from Zidane is one of the rewards that I am taking, it was my great achievement."
