Lukaku vs Van Dijk: Chelsea striker touched ball fewer times than anyother player at Liverpool

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku touched the ball fewer times than anyother player during Saturday's 1-1 draw at Liverpool.

Even Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and Chelsea counterpart Edouard Mendy had more possession over the game.

The Daily Mail reports by the hour mark Lukaku had managed just 18 touches - fewer than any other starter - and this includes both goalkeepers and Reds defender Virgil van Dijk.

3 mins - Long ball up towards Lukaku down the Chelsea right. Van Dijk leans into the forward and wins the opening tussle to huge cheers

13 mins – Lukaku receives the ball in space inside the Liverpool half. Van Dijk allows him to turn and invites the No 9 on. Lukaku is forced to pass and wastes the opportunity.

18 mins – Van Dijk is muscled off the ball down by his own corner flag by Lukaku. Liverpool demand a foul, it's not given and Lukaku feeds a dangerous low cross into the area, which is cleared

34 mins – A square ball from Mason Mount reaches Lukaku near the penalty spot. Van Dijk closes him down immediately and the forward's first-time shot is deflected harmlessly through to Alisson

35 mins – Joel Matip tries to nick the ball in front of Lukaku on halfway. The forward turns the defender and drives towards goal. Van Dijk invites him to feed Mount, whose shot is dragged wide.

64 mins – Lukaku finds a yard of space inside the box and meets Marcos Alonso's header across goal. But Matip is there to block his effort from close range
