Loris Karius: I've never felt let down by Liverpool support

Loris Karius says he's never felt let down by the Liverpool support.

After spending time on loan at Besiktas and Union Berlin in recent years, the 28-year-old remains on the fringes at Anfield and is awaiting his chance to move on in search of first team football.

But, he's admitted he's thankful for the support shown by supporters after the final in 2018.

“There were many great experiences," he told Fabrizio Romano on a Twitch stream.

"To put just one is difficult. You will always remember the first game you had at Anfield, it's something really special.

“Even if you never played there before as a visitor, it's something really special, I came at 22, 23 years of age.

“Also after everything bad that happened in 2018, the first time I stepped back into Anfield they [the fans] gave me a standing ovation and were cheering for me.

"It was great to see that, there might be some fools on the internet, but the real supporters of Liverpool are always behind you.

“That's the saying 'You'll Never Walk Alone', you know, you can be sure as a player they will always stand behind you no matter what."
