Lorenzo Serra Ferrer has resigned as vice-president of Real Betis.
Serra Ferrer had held the position for the past two years. It's the third time he's left Betis - twice as coach.
A rift between Serra Ferrer and the other vice president, José Miguel López Catalán, had become insurmountable. Their disagreement sparked by plans to redevelop the club's training HQ.
Lopez Catalan stated yesterday, "It's a sad day because we have to announce that Serra is leaving the club, if anything we have learned in these five years is that the sports area is the most important for Betis.
"He has done a very important job these two years, I called him two years ago to meet him, he has contributed a lot, we have worked hand in hand to take 95 percent of the decisions in consensus."
