Loftus-Cheek: First pre-season win so important for Chelsea boss Conte

Chelsea youngster Ruben Loftus-Cheek has highlighted the importance of the team's first pre-season win for new manager Antonio Conte.

The Blues, who started their pre-season camp in Austria with a defeat against Rapid Vienna on Saturday, managed to beat RZ Pellets WAC 3-0 on Wednesday nigh with the 21-year-old scoring the second goal of the game.

When asked about opening Conte's Chelsea account, Loftus-Cheek told the club's official website: "He's a strong character with a lot of passion and I think he's the right man for the job.

"We respect him so much and trust his work so I think it's going to be a good season.

"It was important for us to get a first win of pre-season because in the last match, as a team, it wasn't so good. I think we showed real improvement against WAC.

"We've been working really hard in training and trying to get used to the formation the boss wants us to play, and we did well, so I'm really happy."
