Argentine great Loco Gatti believes time is running out for Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane.
Zidane is again under pressure after Sunday's 4-1 humbling at Valencia. The result leaves Real Madrid four points off the top of the table sitting in fourth place. Real Sociedad are currently LaLiga leaders.
However, while Real Madrid remain well placed in the LaLiga, poor results at home and in the Champions League has again brought the spotlight on Zidane, with the popular Gatti stating Florentino Perez, the club's president, needs to act.
The problem, however, according to Gatti, is that Florentino is too close to Zidane and will be reluctant to sack the Frenchman, or even request his resignation. Instead, Gatti says Zidane should fall on his own sword during this international break.
Gatti called into El Chiringuito on Sunday night, stating via Sport: "I'm very hot with Madrid as a friend of Florentino (Perez, president) ... I think the time has come for Zidane to step aside.
"He wins games because it's Madrid and they have players who win ... I have a fever ... This Zidane makes my heart die.
"Florentino has to kick him out, he's not going to kick him out because he's a friend of his, but it's time for him to leave and step aside."
Argentina World Cup goalkeeper Gatti never played in Spain, but has established himself as a popular pundit in his adopted country. Now 76, Gatti played over 300 games for Boca Juniors and boasts over 50 caps for Argentina.
