Loanee Dindane makes Portsmouth move permanent

Lens president Gervais Martel has claimed Aruna Dindane's loan move to Portsmouth has become permanent. The Ivorian striker has been on loan from the French outfit since August, scoring four goals in 13 Premier League appearances for the cash-strapped club.

"English football is currently in big trouble," said Martel. "There have been many requests for a loan. But there was no reason to loan him (Dindane).

"Today (Friday), the loan at Portsmouth becomes a permanent transfer. The situation is complicated but I think there will be some glimmers of hope in the coming hours."

Dindane has played 15 games in total for Pompey, which is thought to have activated a clause in the loan contract which means the English club must pay up an agreement to buy.

"Aruna has officially made his number of games, the transfer fee has to begin to be paid in this beginning of February," added Martel.
