LOAN WATCH: QPR's Barton unhappy with Marseille send-off

Joey Barton saw red for the first time since he joined Marseille on a season-long loan from QPR in the summer.

The English midfielder made slight contact with Vincent Muratori in the 56th minute of his side's 1-0 home defeat to Nancy to pick up a first yellow before he lunged in on Djamel Bakar four minutes later to receive a second and a subsequent sending off.

Barton felt hardly done by for the first caution and used Twitter to voice his displeasure.

"Players who roll around when nobody touches them should be subsequently banned. I hate cheats. Authorities should address it," he wrote.

Since arriving at the Stade Velodrome, Barton has made 10 Ligue 1 appearances for third-placed Marseille who fell six points behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
