LOAN WATCH: Newcastle's Dundee Utd defender Good impressed by Scottish standard

Newcastle United youngster Curtis Good admits he has been pleasantly surprised by the standard of Scottish football.

The 20-year old Australian defender joined Dundee United on loan late last month and has already started in three matches, scoring on one occasion.

Good felt he needed to get some regular game time as he was not pushing for a first team role with the Magpies and is happy he ended up making the temporary move to Tannadice.

"I've been very, very happy with the Scottish league," the former Melbourne Heart man said.

"I hadn't known much about it, I hadn't watched much of it but when I came here, especially Dundee (United), they try and play as much football as possible.

"In our first two games I've noticed we try to play the ball out and we've got a lot of good young players in the team who are good on the ball and good at creating stuff."

The Tangerines currently sit fourth on the Scottish Premiership table following the weekend's 3-2 win over Kilmarnock in which Good provided the 65th-minute equalizer.
