LOAN WATCH: Crewe boss keen on return for Swansea veteran Tate

Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis is hoping he can bring Alan Tate back to the club on loan in January.

The 32-year old Swansea City defender joined Crewe on an emergency loan in September and is set to return to south Wales after the weekend's League One clash with Bristol City.

However, Davis wants to bring Tate back to Gresty Road in the next transfer window despite the fact he has managed just six matches and non since October because of injuries.

"Alan has done well when he has played and he has been fantastic around the place," said Davis.

"He has great experience and the boys look up to him and have learnt a great deal from him.

"He has had a positive affect around the place and he has fitted in really well. I'm sure he has thoroughly enjoyed himself and it is something we will consider doing again in January.

"He can play against Bristol City but then his loan is up. We cannot do anything again until January when the window opens again because his 93 days are up. That gives us some time to make a decision and see what Swansea wish to do as well."
