LOAN WATCH: Chelsea young gun Kiwomya scores stunner for Crewe Alexandra

Alex Kiwomya came off the bench to help loan club Crewe Alexandra secure a season-opening victory on the weekend.

The 20-year-old attacker joined the Railwaymen on a five-month loan from Chelsea earlier this month and had an immediate impact in Sunday's clash with Stevenage at The Lamex Stadium.

Just moments after coming off the bench in the 62nd minute, Kiwomya raced down the right flank before supplying a beautiful through ball for Ryan Lowe to slot home from the edge of the area.

On 80 minutes, the former Barnsley and Fleetwood Town loanee produced an absolutely sublime goal following a dazzling individual run.

Stevenage pulled one back through Charlie Lee in injury-time but the damage had already been done by the Chelsea starlet.

Crewe boss Steve Davis was full of praise for Kiwomya for his match-winning cameo.

“The two subs changed our fortunes and Alex showed two moments of quality to win the game, with the pass through to Lowe and then he scored his solo goal," he said.

“He showed a burst of pace, some really quick feet and then some composure to finish it lovely in the corner. I thought he was going to smash it but he has finished it in the corner."
